Among so many pictures of poses and careful planning, this one is a mountain of the moment. Does the child even know or care that Maria is shooting? That Maria is near, of course, I can sense it. But the camera? The child learns nature, its delicacy and efforts, and is involved in a task, while the woman shoots as a spy from the future. How many of us can take this picture? Not me. I wish, but wishing rarely works. Thanks for such a huge journey in exchange for no investment from me, Maria.

If only we could keep some fragment of this mind set as we get older. That easily-amused-without-a-care-in-the-world mind set.
