it's real blood. i know because i accidentally put it there. dry weather + sneeze = nose bleed = blood clot = leaving room quick in pace in order to keep from bleeding all over the place. i was cleaning up the door and in fact had a partial bloody hand print, but it wasn't visible enough against the grain of the door, so i just photographed this.
