This is a really great photo... I was wondering if you don't mind me asking, how did you get such high contrast in this photo? Was it post-processing?

Dearest John,
# I won't enter a tedious debate about linguistical matters. this is not the place...
# I wasn't invited to post any images to JPG, I subscribed myself
# they can do what they like with their guidelines. they can publish the picture or not, it's up to them
# it's up to me to upload pictures that represent at their best what I'm doing and what I do like.
# Period.

This is a beautiful photograph, wholly appropriate. The fact is, unsharp masking is an old darkroom technique that was adopted to digital photography. I highly doubt that if this process was applied to a photograph from a 4x5 view camera, and then scanned for reproduction, then there would be an issue as to the photo's validity in JPG. Therefore, we must assume that there is a certain bias against digital photography when using basic photographic darkroom technique. And I would hate to think that there existed that bias in a publication named JPG (insert irony). The photo rules Escapista, rock on.
