Lot of history in this place....
*The Paine Art Center is a house that was built during the depression. Mrs. Paine and Mr. Paine were extremely wealthy and owned most of Oshkosh. They owned the larger factories and paid their employees with vouchers to purchase goods at stores that the couple owned; thus they kept all their money under stringent control. When the people of Oshkosh learned of the Paine Center being built, they threatened the couple, saying that if they ever moved into it, the people of Oshkosh would kill them. The couple feared the people of Oshkosh and never did move in.-SL

What a gorgeous shot! I really loved your photo series! Don't know how I missed this place... (I live in Illinois, used to travel to Wisconsin all the time). Great work, Vicki!
