  Wonderful series! I love high contrast. Have you shown these to your students? When I first looked at the this photo my eyes were drawn to the bright highlights of the ship closest to the viewer. I didn't notice the entire sail, at first, but I guess our minds fill in the blank areas fairly quickly. As a small child I used to play on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD when my sister and I would stay with my grandmother. I vaguely recall that she lived in a very old building across from the Naval Academy.
