This place is very unique indeed. You will notice it has protruding rocks staggered throughout the exterior rock walls of the house, a screened-in porch that has aged wood and rusty torn screens with vines and desert plant seeds clinging to them. Behind the house is a water tower suspended on a rusty welded pole frame that used to be the household water supply and beside that are two concrete tanks at ground level that used to supply the water for property irrigation for the grasses, gardens, and trees. Two large picture windows look out the rear of the house as do two more that look out of the front onto the porch. The entire inside of the house is of old lathe and plaster walls which provided very good insulation from both heat and cold extremes that are found in the high desert climate in the area. After walking through this simple old stone home it is easy to see the charm of living out in the middle of nowhere as the positioning of the house is on a rise so that in every direction is a clear view without obstruction from anything other than a few power lines that run along the highway in front of the house which is set back a few hundred yards and was built to shield the noise of passing trucks and cars.

Love it! It makes me wonder about it and other abandoned homes...why? What happened to the owners? Interesting!
