This photo was taken at an abandoned cattle rancher's house in far west Texas just before sundown. Notice how the orange of the sunset light accents her skin and tints the already rusty screen porch window. The desert plant seeds have clung to the screen over time and the dried vines hanging down outside the porch add touches of the feeling of loneliness and abandonment.
This place is portrayed in another of my photos under favorite hangouts because it is one of my favorite places to photograph people or just the scenery of the surrounding landscape. It can be found on highway 180 about a half hour's drive east of El Paso.
