It is docked in one of the nation's poorest and most crime-ridden neighborhoods, which is nonetheless achingly beautiful. Hunter's Point is extremely remote, barely served by public transit, and largely lacking in stores or services. Nearby are two power plants and San Francisco's largest housing projects.
