I grew up on this beach. I don't think it has a name. It is just one part of several miles of public coastline on Anna Maria Island, but this particular segment is located in the city of Holmes Beach.

This beach, my beach is an integral part of my psyche. I have years of memories of times I spent summers here with my cousins, afternoons with my grandparents and mother or alone wading in the water, chasing coquinas, hunting for sea shells, watching the sun set on the Gulf of Mexico or taking a stole at dawn in the morning mist.

The peace felt here for me on the this particular shoreline it like no other. All the baggage of everyday life is lifted. I feel free, just ready to play and marvel at the beauty of the world.

It has changed a lot over the years with erosion and coastline restoration. Today it is how you see it or until the next hurricane.
