red-tailed hawk on fire escape

this is a young red-tailed hawk on the fire escape across the yard to the building behind me. I live in NYC-these hawks have been placed in the parks to reduce the rat problems, but you rarely see them in the back yards, behind the tenement buildings. This guy got displaced-he may be the one that showed up at a neighbor's pigeon coop.
