lucifuga
This is a Cave Salamander (Eurycea lucifuga). I found this in southern Illinois. These creatures live in damp limestone caves from Missouri and Arkansas east to Tennessee and Virginia. They aren't very big, the size of this animals head is about the size of my pinky finger nail.
