The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was an undersea earthquake that occurred on December 26, 2004. It triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing more than 225 000 people in 11 countries, with waves up to 100 feet. It was one of the deadliest in history.
Me and my friend went to Sungai Petani (West Malaysia) where one of the sea-side villages was hit by the giant wave, causing around 11 fatalities, and a number of injuries. This is where they stood watching the wave coming. The exact spot.
Location : Sungai Petani, Kedah, West Malaysia.
