This is an absolutely astonishing photo, Gabe! The lighting...fixed on your subject -- genius! But I couldn't help but notice that this was taken with Daryl Roth Theater in the background! Fuerza Bruta -- that show is INSANE and BRILLIANT! Highly recommended!! (But as a theater artist you probably already know that!) :)

Thanks Lisa. I had my flash on because I was shooting some skaters. This guy walked into the frame and the flash really did wonders. It's actually a crop of a wider shot that includes a skater, but there was a car in the background that I just hated, so I cropped it close.
Haven't seen FuerzaBruta yet. Saw the other DeLaGuarda show though though, pretty cool. -

Union Square, 1999, De La Guarda blew my mind in that old bank building. Theatre was different for me after that. Thanks for refreshing the memory with such a great shot, Gabe. If you told me this guy was the star of the show and this pic designed to promote it, I'd believe it and fork over my fity bucks or double that for entrance. And typical NYC: That guy might have walked past that building 1,000 times and not known that art happened there, or he could be the director of the show. Always sliced by the edge of possibility on that cramped island.

I'll add also that the flash filled in the light perfectly on the man. It actually seems like natural light.
