A newly hatched hawksbill sea turtle leaving tracks as he makes his way to the ocean.
The hawksbill sea turtle is the most endangered of all the marine turtles as they have been actively hunted for many years - the carapace of a hawksbill sea turtle is the source of "tortoiseshell" used in sunglasses, mirrors, hair ornaments, and guitar picks.
In the story The Closest Thing to Paradise.

I experienced baby turtles hatching on Heron Island in Australia's Great Barrier Reef in 1998. It's a magical event. Great photo.
