Only A Mothers Love Is Able To See The Beauty ....

Thanks to those for the comments and queries on the source of the image.

This image has had no retouching or filtered effect though I did crop it to size.

The 'creature' is a life size sculpture (that among other things includes latex and real human hair in the construction) it is titled THE YOUNG FAMILY by Patrica Piccinini and is on display at the Bendigo Art Gallery in Australia.

I will upload another facial image of the same.

Kind regards
Steve

the subject matter is very interesting, one of those examples where one JUST HAS TO describe what/where/etc... not complaining, but is this photo art? or is it a photo of art? it's definitely an ok photo of an amazingly eye-catching piece of art... if it was your art, i'd said, "wow!"... i hope people reply to this comment as i believe it's thought-provoking...

This isn't the first time I've seen a picture of this on the Net. It did disturb me though. You should really put this in the WTF category; I'm sure it'd do better there.

When I first saw this photo, I didn't leave a comment because I didn't think it was real. Your photograph is so compelling that when I saw it again, I had to take another look - From the thumbnail I actually thought it was a dog with puppies. I'm glad you explained - it's a fabulous shot! Kudos to you. It looks like Marshall hit the nail on the head.

You've got a pretty solid photo of an absolutely amazing sculpture. Makes me want to explore the planet these folks - or critters - live on. Man, the stories and pictures that are coming into my head...

it is a photo OF art. does not add (or take away) anything that this piece has to offer. In order for it to be acceptable appropriation, it needs to change they way we are looking at a piece of art. Good exposure though.
