While travelling through Sri Lanka, we stopped at a sea turtle hatchery on the way to the beach. I was utterly convinced that the whole enterprise would be a bullshit tourist trap, but figured it would be worth enduring on the off chance that we might possibly see a real live baby turtle. Not only did we get to see, touch and learn quite a deal about three different species of turtles at nearly every stage of their lifecycle, but my expectations were completely exceeded when we got to take some babies to the beach at sunset and release them into the ocean.

danny monster: aw, he is not alone. he was recently hatched in a giant mound of eggs with all his brother and sisters. also, he's a baby sea turtle (leatherback, i think?), not a crab.
