Crash Into Me

I've been advised not to shoot directly into the sun. I didn't listen and this is what I got. - Pescadero State Beach, CA (April 2008)

Well I for one am glad you don't listen - The way the sun reflects off the smooth rocks in the foreground and the way you’ve frozen that moment in time as the waves splash in make this an incredible image. Not the least of which is an extremely challenging exposure – and you pulled it off. Excellent.

This is a fantastic shot! I love that you shot so low. You have achieved fore, mid and background that all tel a story. Portia this is fab! Have you noticed that the lower the 'film speed' the better with sun shots? I usually use the lowest setting on my camera and get similar starring around the light.

Incredible shot. Absolutely wonderful pov. You will most times find me laying on the ground somewhere taking a photo. It's an entirely different view. I love the spash you captured and Iove shooting into the sun too. Great texture with the rocks. Brilliant photo.
