Outside of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, you can visit the killing fields, where Pol Pot ordered thousands of men, women, and children to be brutally executed. Next to the fields there is a stupa (a memorial tower) filled with the skulls of the victims. Standing before all of those skulls is a very powerful and moving experience.
