I took my first trip on the Los Angeles Metro. Starting in Pasadena, I purchased a one day pass for $5.00 and boarded the Gold Line at the Memorial Park station. I took the Gold Line to the end at Union Station in down town Los Angeles. I then transferred to the Red Line, which took me to my destination at 7th and Flower.
I was timing the trip to determine how long it would take me to get to my training class at 818 W. 7th street. It took more time than I expected as I need to include the time to get to the station and transfer time. So I’ll need to leave my place in Altadena around 7:30am to make sure I’m early for the 9am class; a former boss always said, “If you’re not early, you’re late.”
My experience using public transportation for the week of my training class was very positive. In fact, as I look for a new job, I am keeping in mind that I have access to the Metro. I hope it works out that I find a job that allows me to take the Metro every day.
