Lots of early morning light warmed us, that and the too-thin sweatshirts we'd brought. We were on our way to the desert and stopped for a photo or two. An hour later, frozen but happy, we hopped back in the car. Hands pulled into sleeves, frantic blowing on stiff fingers, lamenting the lack of tissues for our thawing noses, we talked and laughed about our stop and the photos we took.
