Eisenhower Asian Tour. 1960.
One of my first "big" assignments. I had climbed up the rafters over a platform set up for newsmen. I couldn't get down. Since I had a 200 mm. telephoto lens mounted on my camera, I spent my time shooting close shots. I caught a pensive Ike after he learned he had to forego his planned trip to Japan since demonstrations of Zengakuren students couldn't guarantee his safety.
