Final moments of a light bulb.
Thanks for stopping by.., appreciate your comments on the light bulb attempt!
For sure there was an element of luck involved but only after some careful planning and hard work.
Actually what is being captured here are the final moments as the filament burns out as soon as the power is switched-on. The whole thing burns in less than a second ;-)
Lost? ok!
First of all the idea was to remove the globe without breaking the filament.., this was the hardest bit and it took 6 destroyed bulbs to achieve... reason? every time the globe exploded (inside a plastic bag) the gas and pressure caused the breakage.., overcame this by wrapping the bulb in a soaked kitchen towel.
Once a clean filament was secured, placed the camera on tripod, manual focus lock, remote trigger, lights off, power-on for the light bulb and a burst of captures.., some keeper and the rest lost in the name of experimentation.

At first glance I thought this was a jelly fish .. what a wonderfully creative idea! Beautifully done.

I too thought it a jelly fish; then smoke from a cig; I can't figure out though how you timed this so perfectly
