Brighton Zen
Late January. Early Saturday morning. I'm in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, and it's cold. The wind is just saw whipping down the boardwalk and yet there are more than a few people getting their early morning exercise on the boards.
I came upon this woman who was doing her early morning meditation. Bundled up, but dedicated. Looking toward the sun, wind at her back. Her hands are up and her lips are moving.
What her mantra or prayers were, I couldn't tell. But this big pavillion gave me some perspective and I snapped off a couple of frames and kept walking, not wanting to intrude.
