Black Magic Doorway
While doing a personal photography documentary, of the ambiance of doorways, I was particularly struck with this building's door. The entire structure was black and slate black with no other color for decoration. Even the pipes and wires were blackened. One can see there is no house number, no door handle, no lock, no mail slot. While shooting this shot and studying details,the ambiance and energy of this dwelling made me shiver and I just had bad vibes being within the presence of this place. Does this place hold mysteries to fear, with its robe of color theory?

One of the apartments I didn't take in Greenwich Village, decades ago, was painted black. Heavy black enamel. Floors, walls, ceilings. I know the feeling well.
