Sekaten was a term used in an effort to spread Islamic religion in the age of Mataram Kingdom in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. When celebrating Sekaten there's always a temporary market in front of Sultan Palace (Kraton Ngayogyakarta) . For approximately a month before Grebeg Maulud (a traditional ceremony which is held in order to memorize birthday of Nabi Muhammad -- an Islamic Greatest Prophet), the market not only sells foods and goods, but also tourist attraction that haven't changed for many years.
