Christmastime, John Hancock Bldg. in the Fog, Chicago, 2007
This is one of my most favorite nights of having gone out taking photos. It was miserable most of the day pouring rain in the bone-chilling cold- but then it stopped and only the low clouds remained.
I have many more angles and better shots of this scene but I figure that this is a good representation. I like its monolithic quality from this angle.
Most people ask me what I did to the photo in photoshop to make the colors look the way they do...all I did was bring a bit more contrast- I like my photos with contrast.
I was very lucky that night that I had my tripod...and that the sky co-operated...preperation + opportunity and all of that nonsense.
To be honest I don't know how to do more than crop, contrst or sharpen. I'm old.
I hope that you like the photo. Thanks for looking. :)

unique capture of the Hancock; like the fog effect you've captured; great composition too!
