Land mines in Croatia
Dog leader Marko Kulas searches for mines using his trained german shepard Milo. Kulas works a mine action program, the only non-profit demining company in Croatia. In Croatia, suspected areas still cover more than 1,000 square kilometers with around 240,000 mines remaining in 12 out of 21 counties.

Leah - thank you; My hopes are that you will put together a photo essay from this and some of your other shots! Its not only that that will make it easier to share with other, but I feel this story is important to spread widely. If its not already in the work, please know you have my encouragement to do so!

Great idea, but why do you feel that this story is so important, no one in the world cares about those mines but Croatian people. Same situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
