walking by w4 and 6th ave in nyc, this gentleman stops me, and says politely, "excuse me, can you please take my picture?"
I didn't even blink. I dropped a knee, and snap-snap-snap. three quick shots.
I showed him the image on the back of the camera, he was really grateful.
He tells me he just got out of the hospital, and shows me his ID bracelet. It's shiny and new looking. I notice his birthday is april 11, 1963. I tell him "hey your birthday is coming up, take care of yourself"
he asks for some change, i give him a buck and wish him a good day. as i walk away, he thanks me profusely... it's completely unnecessary. he made my day
