I think I'm Awake

. . . . when I finished the photograph, the silhouetted man reminded me of Roland of Gilead (The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three) when he wakes up on the beach, only to find that an entire decade has passed him by. The bones of his former acquaintance have already turned to dust when just hours ago, it seems, they sat, conversing in the sand.
