Japanese Lolita Fashion Meets Portland, OR
One of the most popular trends amongst young men and women in Japan today is the various types of street fashion that they wear. One of the more popular styles of Japanese street fashions, lolita style, is becoming quite popular in the United States as well.
There are many different subcultures of Lolita Fashion including the following:
Punk Lolita uses lots of plaid, lace, big bows, (sometimes with a tattered look) and accessories that include safety pins and chains.
Gothic Lolita: Combines Edwardian pieces with darker colors or black and white. Accessories include purses and parasols.
Sweet Lolita: Pink and white are the main colors with lots of frills and lace. Young women will carry around stuffed animals, parasols and other things to increase the cuteness of the look.
Japanese lolita fashion has found it's place among more common US fashion trends such as punk, grunge, and gothic and is sure to become even more popular in the years to come.

oooooh! oooooh! I LOVE this. Wonderful composition, very engaging! I love how the umbrella is about to touch the girls on the outside but it doesn't. And then the girl against the wall has her feet just barly on the edge of the frame. Ooooh! I love it!

my friends are so obssessed with Lolita fashion, and i love victorian stuff and i find the japanese lolita fashion ADORABLE. And this photo is wonderful and magical, as well as the composition and we live an hour away from Portland OR, and I am surprised that this style has reached here but I am glad to see it.
