it's a joy to take pictures of alex, from guadalajara, mexico's DISIDENTE, one of guadalajara's (a city of 5 million) best live bands, and a cool guy as well. hope you like it!
shot with a canon 30d, 70-200 2.8., one of my first shows with the new lens. i went out into the crowd of about 2,000 rabid fans. it's a shell-shapped outdoor theatre. because it was a rock conciert, of course nobody was in their seats, so i stood on the seats with the rest of them. a bit risky, bc easily somebody could have bumped me hard and dumped me, but ya gotta risk something for great photos, right?

Marshall I love this shot so much. You’ve completely captured this man’s energy and love for his art. The whirling smoke and his wild hair show movement along with the obvious height on his jump and throw of the guitar. The colors are wonderful. His dark clothing in contrast with the white smoke is fantastic. Your pov is awesome and the blur of his back foot is crazy good. I love his expression and I actually want to hear what he’s playing (because your photo is so good). I like the wave of the electric cord trailing down to the stage and the hint of other band members behind him. This is a fabulous shot and perfect for “On The Go”. Great work!
