Human Impact

This easily could have been termed Land Impact, showing part of a local native Indian reservation in Arizona. I couldn't figure out why there was such poverty and disrepair all around; even the cows were skinny. And then it hit me: when Indians were given reservation land, they didn't get the best or even the bountiful. They got the dregs, the leftovers, the unwanted. Not much can thrive out there other than scrub brush. Is it any wonder that poverty rates are so high? To prosper, the Indians might well have to move off the reservation, but that's a whole other story.
