"I'm Sham, I wanted to talk with you because you look like someone who once had a very positive effect on me, a soul I could relate to....So, I'll greet you like this (hands together in a prayer position with a slight head bow) for two reasons. First, this shows mutual respect for you and for me and recognizes us as equal, beautiful souls moving through the world in this incarnation, and secondly, because American's don't wash their hands...." Sham is a regular at Vic's cafe, and he's one of the best people to have a conversation with while there. He's highly energetic, has a great sense of humor, and always has an exciting new story or revelation. Sham's life changed markedly about ten years ago when he visited India and fell in love with the place. His time there was a spiritual revelation and sparked an insatiable interest in all things of India (he's reading about Hinduism on his laptop in this photo). Sham is one of the few people I've meet in my life who truly respects all people as spiritual beings and regards each person's spiritual nature as sacred.
