It's....art. Not my own. I found it in the window of an art store in La Jolla, CA. Intriguing bamboo and wire...
at least that's what I thought. but Sk Wier knows her asian brushes....its a Hake Brush. Thanks Sk!

It looks like a very large bamboo hake brush (I think that's the correct term) for a large bamboo brush used for Sumi and ink washes. From the look of this one I'd say it's been used quite a bit! Great shot!
