Cohabitation

The animal in the photograph is a bobcat. It was killed for sport. However, hunters are not the biggest worry for wild animals. With residential expansion pushing further into rural areas, large swathes of land where animals like this bobcat can roam free are fast becoming strip malls and suburban neighborhoods. Many species of predatory animals, which pose minimal risk to humans, are then trapped and killed. I believe that this image shows an image of human impact that we are, for obvious reasons, apt to turn a blind eye.

It is important to note, that this animal was donated to me by a taxidermist. I played no part in the death, nor skinning of this animal.
