Build around it.
It is very true that humanity's existence often leads to destruction in the natural world. However, as we too are of nature, it seems plausible to assert that we can coexist. You don't have to destroy it. Just build around it. You'll end up with a new sort of beauty, a sort of Artificial Nature, where the two parts compliment each other endlessly.
