I don't know Basquiat.
For me there is a great discrepancy between the head and the not crossed words, its as the head included all crossed words. Great shot. -

Wicked. Very subversive. Indexing another piece of art (we cannot posses or see unless we visit it) and changing its essence by turning it into something else ie from street art to a photograph (something we can see from our own homes and are able to possess). Possibly a comment on capitalism, methinks.
