I wanted this angle to give a dramatic effect of the waves smashing into the pier. I was upset that the new sidewalk (crossing to the wooden deck to the left) was messing with the purity of my pier photo. Imagine that, anger about concrete interfering with my picture of a man made structure interfering with nature!
