Homemade From The Heart
The quilt on the bed was handmade by my husband's Paternal Grandmother. She pieced the quilt by hand. It is very special to me because she wanted me to have it. She died last July.
The bed was handmade by my husband. He designed the headboard and footboard one day on a paper napkin. He made the metal frame and then he cut and sanded each board. TWICE. That's right TWICE. The first set of boards, I stained and then they got rained on, then the rain turned to hail. It ruined the boards. So we had to do that step all over again. Everytime I look at the bed it just makes me laugh. We have blood, sweat, tears, rain and even some hail on this bed. Things that only handmade items have.

Great story, indeed! Does the pattern have anything to do with the "Lone Star State?"
