An image deliberately composed to be symbolic. i think today too often Christians have made thier faith comfortable. this image reminds me that bloodshed is a profound element of my Christian faith, both symbolic cleansing as in the sacrament of communion and as a reminder that it's okay to die for the sake of those you love. this gives me great courage in troubling times. it does not mean to me, nor should it to any Christian, that others' blood is ours to shed!
