the number of homeless in philadelphia::america is unreal.. on almost every corner you will encounter emptiness and hurt.. early spring//samson st. downtown::standing out was the american flag blanket.. people walk past one another all the time::life isn't mercy.. mr. mr. "may i". america:america..
{sleep in sweat/sunshine in ones eyes/a corporate man//the uncaring and wicked::or maybe he's not a bad guy::work honest::raises a family:caring and love//and the suns just in his eyes..
i work three days a week in a restaurant "alfa" downtown philadelphia which is full of diversity..
but this pictures hangs above a table there//so i'm always hearing peoples reactions.. either way. always interesting to listen to people talk about your photos//with or without them knowing you took the photo.. or the difference in people and different opinions.. most asked question: "was this photograph staged" it was not..
these two people have never met nor will they ever.. two months ago the man sleeping on the blanket was sitting on a vent off 16th and walnut. trying to stay warm//when a taxi ran a stop light//got jackknifed and smashed on to the sidewalk killing him..
In the street:dreams photo essay.
