This is Aoki Hirai, a 70-year old Japanese who has been in Morong, Bataan for over 10 years. He claims that he used to be rich and was then a close friend of the late strongman Marcos. He came to the Philippines to hunt treasure for the former president. Got married to a Filipina and had one child. He later lost all he had and his family left him. He came to this village and was open-heartedly welcomed by my wife's relatives, though they didn"t know him and understand his language. Since then he has been living with them.
