A view of the southern part of Scheveningen beach. The entrance to the fishing port is right next to the pier, on the other side of the entrance canal to the port there is a second pier and then it changes back into sea which will run for at least 30-40 km's untill it ends at Hoek van Holland. During the summer months it's like an anthill, many locals and tourists enjoy the rays of the sun, the waves, the cooling of the sea. Life can be good at the seaside but right now it's cold. The last couple of days it has been wonderful though. A really nice change to the last couple of months filled with storms, rain, darkness.

In the The Netherlands off beat photo essay.
