I agree with trish - i prefer flowers in decay state or nothing at all, but this is unusual and a bit surreal - therefore, I love it ;)

FYI.. I took this particular shot at a lotus field (pond?) planted at the Harn Museum of Art, in Gainesville, FL.
About 2 months later, I went back to photograph some more, finding the entire thing completely dried and dead. Apparently, it was accidentally sprayed with pesticide.

Its always fun to get great feedback on a picture you felt so-so about :-) A hell of a lot better than not getting any on a picture your extremely proud of! I hate hate hate flower photography. This is a really great picture though. I think the bee flying front and center to the top of the lotus really makes the shot.

Nice job. My eye sees the flower first, then it goes to the garden below, but then it goes back to the flying bee, then to the one on the left. THis photo has so mutch intricacy that it really captures the viewer. Nice job. The burned corners are somewhat overdone, but seem to enhance the photo. All in all, I like it.

The tones and saturated colours give this image a toy camera feel. I like how the flower to the right looks like a plastic sprinkler with the holes. Great timing with the bees flying around the flower and great focus/DoF. All in all a superb shot.
