Pelican Pileup #3282
Brown Pelicans in a feeding frenzy quite unlike anything I've ever seen. This was just one of three or four super-clusters in the immediate area, a few hundred yards off the Morro Bay sandspit in the Pacific Ocean in California. Seen January 2008, from the open window of an airplane; Canon EOS 5D, L-series optics, cropped about 66%.
