covered bridge
A man looks out over the confluence of the Eramosa and Speed Rivers from Guelph's covered bridge. Apart from the stone and concrete footings, the bridge is made entirely of wood, even the huge pegs holding it all together. At night, local kids literally hang out drinking in the rafters, which once freaked me out when I rode my bike home after a late shift.
In the story The Ward.
