Djupavik, Iceland. 2008
Part of a series of shots i am submitting from my trip to Iceland with Seanie Blue to take photos and simply experience the impact of such a place.
Everything about Djupavik is visually rich and inspiring. it's simply a matter of time and choice of subject.
Standing on the rocky black rock shore i set up my tripod to capture the carcass of this ship as the daylight faded out.
at dusk and in the shadow of a mountain, all photos turn to this brilliant blue that i haven't really seen in other latitudes.
There are no hues added to this shot. this is simply the sort of blue you get there once dusk settles in.
Shortly after this shot the snow began to fall and had a really cool misting effect on subsequent shots of the ship and the factory.

Beautiful hues. Love the feel. Cold, lonely, the way I like!
