i spent a couple weeks travelling round Fiji's main island (Viti Levu) with about 10 others doing missionary and maintenace work. as part of this, we spent a day picking up rubbish in a squatter village on the outskirts of Suva. the level of poverty was close to 3rd world, many people were sick and food was scarce. this little boy folowed us around the village diligently,but however much we coaxed him, he wouldn't speak- even to tell us his name. he didn't like my camera much, so i treasure this shot of him a lot.
