You want tiny, to get any smaller you will need a microscope!!
A run and gun attempt to capture this super tiny spider mite. What is a spider mite you ask....
Spider mites are not insects but are more closely related to spiders. These arachnids have four pairs of legs, no antennae and a single, oval body region. Most spider mites have the ability to produce a fine silk webbing. Spider mites are very tiny, being less than 1/50 inch (0.4mm) long when adults.
Equipment Used:
Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT)
Pentacon M42 mount Bellows
Nikon 75mm Enlarger lens
M42 to EOS adapter
All shots were done hand held, so I could chase this tiny little bugger. The DOF is extremely shallow with this setup, but with his size if I can get a direct hit shot wise next time, he will look even better.

I saw an entire population of these erupting from the ground after a rainstorm in Tanzania. What beautiful creatures...thank you for the information.
