His Excellency L. B. Johnson, Bahamas Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Washington DC., (1974)
Attorney L. B. Johnson was the first Bahamian to be accredited as Ambassador to the United States of America since the Islands Of the Bahamas became an independent sovereign nation on July 10, 1973. He also served as Ambassador to the United Nations as well as Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States.
As a Junior Diplomatic Officer, I was priviledged to have served with Ambassador Johnson for six years.
Ambassador Johnson was a remarkable man who made a tremendrous contribution to promoting Bahamas/U.S. Relations during a very critical time in the economic and political development of The Bahamas..
